Pami-Kol Filipino Martial Arts

Pami-Kol is a Filipino Martial Art of Self Defense

Pami-Kol style was founded in the island of Cebu (the Philippines) in 1980 by Kaplag (Cebuano word for founder) Galo M. Enriquez.

Involved in martial arts since early years,  The Founder had carried out a comparative study of multiple martial art styles. The objective was to find out just how effective those martial arts were when it comes to self-defense against a bigger, stronger attacker or multiple attackers.

The finding of the study was simple: the majority of traditional martial arts tend to teach defense techniques that act against their own offense techniques. As a result, they have limited use in real life situations where an attacker takes you by surprise and there is no referee that would stop the fight if unclean techniques are used. Out of this realization, Pami-Kol was born.

Pami-Kol is a short version of pami-ang pama-kol which in Cebuano dialect means to break, to cripple. Sound serious? It is serious.

This self defense martial art is based on Violent Eagle Style but extends it with techniques designed to fight multiple martial arts styles as well as (or rather first of all) street-style brutal attacks. In that respect, Pami-Kol philosophy is close to that of modern fighting systems like Krav Maga or the Russian Systema. When it comes to defending your own life or the lives of your loved ones, there is no place for fair play and rules - every technique is good as long as it puts the attacker out of the picture.

Pami-kol Martial Arts Offers:
A Non Sport Approach. Medals , trophies , successes in tournaments give students a false sense of security while in real life combat there are no referees , points, prep time , time limits , gongs and coaches advising strategy. Success in a tournament is like learning to swim with a floaty - will one swim well without it ? probably not.

TSM-Time Saving Method. you  an think of it as Occam's Razor rule applied to martial arts .If there many offensive/defensive techniques that can lead to the same results , then the best one is the simplest one ; the one that requires the least amount of time . time is paramount -when facing multiple aggressors each second of delay gives them time to react ie. reach for the gun, baseball bat.

Adaption & Open Mind. There is always room for adapting new techniques as long as they prove their efficiency and have a better TSM score than an existing one .
